The sides of the bronze rack were drilled and tapped to fasten a strap holding the turning blocks.

Since the CH quadrant is below the axle and we are pulling on the rack from forward of the rudder stock, the control lines have been crossed (the blocks are barely apparent on this photo).

On this other boat, a short auxiliary tiller had been installed to accommodate a Windhunter system (that never worked). We used it to connect the blocks for the control lines. Since the tiller was pointing aft, it was not necessary to cross the control lines.

Control lines were led to a pair of jamming cleats behind wheel.
